A Great Place to Live and Explore
The City's 13.30 square miles are shaded by more than 50,000 trees. Coral Gables is home to three excellent golf courses, numerous parks and public tennis courts, 36 miles of waterways and abundant boating facilities. And probably the only swimming pool in the country on the National Historic Register - The Venetian Pool - a spring-fed grotto of native coral rock and underwater caves.
Home of the University of Miami
Located in the heart of Coral Gables, the University of Miami is one of only 29 private research universities in the nation, educating nearly 15,000 students a year from every state and more than 100 countries. The campus is a lush, tropical landscape featuring the Ibis Walking Trail, as well as many other places -concert halls, the theatre, stadiums, a museum, world-class library, student center, and cinema all within reach of the community.
A Hub of Cultural and Intellectual Activities
The nationally recognized Lowe Art Museum offers exhibits, permanent collection and fine arts classes. The City is home to several theater companies including the Miracle Theater offering a variety of productions throughout the year. Residents can celebrate "Gables Gallery Night" on the first Friday of every month and make the rounds among the finest displays in contemporary and modern art.
Miracle Mile
The famed Miracle Mile and its surrounding downtown streets with their European-style outdoor cafes, provides residents, employees, business people and visitors with an enjoyable tropical shopping experience. The downtown area is home to many specialty stores and more than 120 international restaurants, a paradise for casual and gourmet diners.
Safeguarding its Heritage
The City's timeless grace and grandeur is maintained thanks to careful planning, strictly enforced building codes and ordinances, and a strong Historic Preservation Program. This program provides protection to the irreplaceable historic resources such as the City's fountain plazas and monumental gateways. Coral Gables currently has more than 600 locally historic designated properties.

The new vintage style, hybrid electric trolleys are a convenient and scenic way to move about the business, shopping, and entertainment destinations in downtown Coral Gables.
